Surgical dermatology

There  dermosurgery (or dermatological surgery)  it is that branch of dermatology that can have oncological or aesthetic purposes and that deals with the surgical treatment of all those skin diseases that require it.
These surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. They consist in the removal of the lesion with a scalpel and in the reconstruction of the skin damage by suturing "by first intention" (where necessary) using techniques of reconstructive plastic surgery or, "by second intention", with the use of particular dressings.
Some particular skin lesions can however be removed with other methods such as diathermocoagulation, CO2 laser, removal by shaving (tangential removal), curettage (simple scratching).

What is it for?

There  dermosurgery  it allows to remove from the skin, nevi, cysts, lipomas, fibroids, papillomas, warts, seborrheic and actinic keratoses, melanomas  and epitheliomas.
Malignant and precancerous lesions require surgical exeresis, while benign lesions are often removed for reasons of simple aesthetic or functional nature.
