The allergy clinic
The allergy clinic is a clinic dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of allergic diseases.
During the visit, an immuno-allergological approach to the patient is essential to understand and clarify clinical pictures that are often complex and that require an overall view of the internal type.
The most represented pathologies are: adverse reactions to foods for which it is essential to follow a correct clinical-diagnostic procedure to reach the definitive diagnosis of food allergy or food intolerance, oculorinitis, bronchial asthma, dermatitis of various kinds from atopic eczema, irritative contact dermatitis to allergic contact dermatitis, acute and chronic urticaria, angioedema, allergy and hypersensitivity to drugs.
During the visit, there are several tests that can be subjected, such as skin and intracutaneous tests with immediate reading (prick test) for inhalants and foods, prick by prick for fresh foods, delayed reading epicutaneous tests (patch test) , spirometric examination in case of bronchial asthma.
At least five days before the allergic examination it is advisable to avoid taking antihistamines / cortisones in case skin tests are to be performed.

Dr. Fabiana Furci, Surgeon, has specialized in Allergology and Clinical Immunology, with full marks and conferral of honors, at the University of Messina.
During the period of specialist training she devoted herself to all aspects of the immuno-allergological branch, from adverse reactions to drugs, adverse reactions to food, allergy to hymenoptera venom, urticaria, dermatitis of various kinds (from irritative and allergic forms to dermatitis atopic), allergic oculorinitis, bronchial asthma, Allergen Specific Immunotherapy, biological therapies.
From April 2018 to February 2019 he carried out a period of off-network training at the Allergy and Asthma Center of the Integrated University Hospital of Verona, recognized as a center of excellence of the World Allergy Organization (WAO). During this period, he followed the various services offered by the Center, with particular dedication to the organization of the clinic of asthma / severe asthma.
